Key Responsibilities
- Work in any SMRT depots, tracks or facilities
- Work in rotating or fixed shifts (i.a.w. MOM guidelines)
- Support the division’s efforts to achieve daily, short-term, and long-term objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Responsible to ensure the timely completion of all duties and/or projects, as assigned
- Work effectively with Ops and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering and projects departments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient daily operations
- Identify safety and reliability concerns of the railway infrastructure system and develop solutions to overcome them
- Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities and/or quality procedures
- Identify, propose, and implement cost effective technologies, and/or changes to process and/or maintenance regime to enhance railway infrastructure system performance
- Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability, and operability
- Assist in planning of annual budget and workplan for his/her unit
- Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace
- Undertake any other tasks or functions that are supplementary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
- Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable to work hands-on in office and site environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers
- Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required
- Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB would be advantageous
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
