Key Responsibilities
- Design the global safety 'operating system' for end-to-end supply chain operations
- Own and govern global safety standards for manufacturing, technical service centres, logistics, fulfillment, contractors, and key partners
- Design, maintain, and continuously improve a globally deployable Safety Management System
- Ensure the Safety Management System operates as a scalable operating system embedded into supply chain management routines
- Build deployment playbooks that convert standards into consistent behaviours (onboarding, leader routines, contractor management, incident learning)
- Lead phased rollouts by site archetype and maturity with readiness criteria and sustainment controls
- Reinforce 'safety is how we work here' through daily routines, not annual campaigns
- Establish governance forums and cadence that drive action with clear owners, decisions, and follow-through
- Coach leaders on safety leadership expectations (behaviours, conversations, and presence)
- Partner with site leaders and global EHS teams to align on common global standards while respecting regulatory and cultural nuance
- Enable site leaders with pragmatic tools, training, and communication assets for easier implementation
- Drive consistent participation of Site Leaders in enterprise safety initiatives, audits, and cross-site learning
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and deploying global safety management systems in complex supply chain or manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change through executive storytelling and governance
- Deep knowledge of international safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001) and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience integrating safety into operational excellence, business continuity, and supply chain resilience initiatives
- Strong background in contractor and partner safety management, including onboarding, performance monitoring, and escalation protocols
- Expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience designing and executing large-scale rollout strategies across geographically dispersed sites
- Proven ability to partner with EHS, operations, and site leadership teams to align standards with local applicability
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills to develop safety leadership behaviours in managers and executives
- Experience developing audit frameworks, assurance processes, and compliance verification systems
- Ability to translate safety strategy into actionable playbooks, training materials, and communication assets
- Experience working in global matrix organizations with cross-cultural and regulatory complexity
- Background in medical device, pharmaceutical, or high-compliance manufacturing industries preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred
