Key Responsibilities

  • Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities
  • Work at heights to perform engineering activities
  • Work effectively with Operations and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects
  • Develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to rectify defects
  • Analyse and trend condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns
  • Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Identify and implement cost effective technologies to enhance SMRT Trains, Locomotives and Equipment performance
  • Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability
  • Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace
  • Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering from a recognised institution
  • Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers
  • Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required
  • Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Effective organizational and planning skills
  • Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
