Key Responsibilities
- Introducing elemental and inorganic analytics to the APAC R&D center and being responsible for analyses of a wide variety of samples.
- Developing analytical methods and contributing to the maintenance of laboratory infrastructure.
- Participating in the set up and the development of the analytical laboratory tasks, such as instrument installation, verification/validation and the equipment maintenance and investments.
- Working in cross-functional teams with other researchers, development engineers and project managers from R&D and stakeholders in supply and production.
- Taking holistic responsibility for inorganic analytics activities, reporting, and possibly acting as project manager with an R&D mindset.
- Recording raw experimental data and preparing spreadsheets for review.
- Performing data analysis, interpreting and identifying substances and/or properties in material complexes.
- Leading and mentoring the APAC IC Inorganic team to pursue best-in-class inorganic research analytics in the region.
Requirements
- M. Sc. / M. S. / Ph.D in Materials Chemistry / Chemistry / Inorganic Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years working experience with wide competence in inorganic analytics.
- Hands-on experience in inorganic chemistry, method development, proficiency testing, and solid/liquid materials characterization techniques.
- Proficiency in techniques including but not limited to; ICP-MS/MS, ICP-OES, CHN, coulometry, XRD, XRF, SEM, FT-IR.
- Experience in analytical method development and validation.
- Solid knowledge and experience in research and troubleshooting of analytical instruments and data processing.
- Ability to distill complex inorganic chemistry analytical data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to details and precision in analytical measurement.
- Excellent technical writing for research, project and finding reports.
- A subtle presentation skill adept at bridging the gap between high-level chemical analytics and actionable business insights.
- Experience and/or background in artificial intelligence / machine learning is advantageous.
- Responsible attitude, safety-oriented, can-do and R&D-mindset.
- Fluent English language skills.
