Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyse key industry and R&D trends - covering major and emerging MedTech technology areas and clinical applications
  • Synthesise and succinctly present insights into supporting the design and execution of national RIE MedTech strategies and to spearhead the development and execution of A*STAR's MedTech R&D programmes and strategies.
  • Conduct, review and make recommendations to support executive decision-making towards improving the A*STAR MedTech strategy, technology roadmaps, capabilities and resourcing and processes
  • Build trusted relationships between management and research performers across A*STAR's research institutes to forge multi-disciplinary collaboration towards synergistic MedTech outcomes
  • Lead scoping of large multi-party grant proposals (e.g. IAF-PP, Programmatic) and facilitate engagements and collaborations between research partners within A*STAR and the external community
  • Support project monitoring and mediation to align processes and expectation between relevant stakeholders
  • Develop a network of relationships with the academic research and clinical community as well as public sector research planning and economic agencies in Singapore
  • Support A*STAR-wide project and outcomes tracking
  • Support other operational activities of the Programme Office

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or other technical experience in a related medical technology field.
  • >10 years of working experience in either medical device/Health IT industry, R&D, strategic/corporate planning, life science management consulting or any other relevant roles
  • Some project management experience is preferred
  • Possess a good understanding of R&D value chain and requirements in key MedTech markets.
  • Experience in front-facing engagements dealing with vendors, key accounts, stakeholders.
  • Possess excellent networking, communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
