Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyse key industry and R&D trends - covering major and emerging MedTech technology areas and clinical applications
- Synthesise and succinctly present insights into supporting the design and execution of national RIE MedTech strategies and to spearhead the development and execution of A*STAR's MedTech R&D programmes and strategies.
- Conduct, review and make recommendations to support executive decision-making towards improving the A*STAR MedTech strategy, technology roadmaps, capabilities and resourcing and processes
- Build trusted relationships between management and research performers across A*STAR's research institutes to forge multi-disciplinary collaboration towards synergistic MedTech outcomes
- Lead scoping of large multi-party grant proposals (e.g. IAF-PP, Programmatic) and facilitate engagements and collaborations between research partners within A*STAR and the external community
- Support project monitoring and mediation to align processes and expectation between relevant stakeholders
- Develop a network of relationships with the academic research and clinical community as well as public sector research planning and economic agencies in Singapore
- Support A*STAR-wide project and outcomes tracking
- Support other operational activities of the Programme Office
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or other technical experience in a related medical technology field.
- >10 years of working experience in either medical device/Health IT industry, R&D, strategic/corporate planning, life science management consulting or any other relevant roles
- Some project management experience is preferred
- Possess a good understanding of R&D value chain and requirements in key MedTech markets.
- Experience in front-facing engagements dealing with vendors, key accounts, stakeholders.
- Possess excellent networking, communication and writing skills.
- Demonstrate ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
