Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of biosafety policies, SOPs, and guidelines.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with biosafety requirements in BSL-3 environments.
- Monitor adherence to approved biosafety practices and address any operational gaps.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities regarding biosafety matters.
- Provide support to Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) activities, including documentation and coordination.
- Advise facility users on biosafety requirements and approval processes for high-containment work.
- Coordinate the movement (import/export) and inventory tracking of biological materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in BSL-2 or BSL-3 laboratory environments.
- Must be a qualified Biosafety Coordinator/Officer recognised by MOH.
- Familiarity with biosafety principles and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working in a high-containment laboratory environment and using required PPE.
