Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing/improving APJ/GC regional campus security processes
  • Standardizing contract security operations staff during assigned shifts
  • Defining and aligning remote supervisor expectations
  • General troubleshooting for security operations for the Illumina APJ/GC campuses & remote locations
  • Managing relationships with the APJ/GC company leadership from various functions to include Campus Leadership, EH&S, Facilities, Commercial Operations & Event Planning
  • Acting as the representative for the Director of Global Security when appropriate
  • Providing strategic risk assessment and applying security management best practices and principles in accordance with Illumina’s global security policy and physical security systems for the APJ/GC region
  • Supporting the maturation of the regional security program including threat and risk assessment, investigations, and establishment of security processes
  • Collaborating with the Physical Security Systems Team to support Physical Security Systems within the assigned region
  • Identifying and mitigating against threats of violence and/or disruption of operations involving Illumina physical assets or intellectual property
  • Developing and executing security plans for emergency response and key projects
  • Assisting in the formulation and deploying policies, procedures, operational standards, and other related activities that support campus wide operations of all physical security and safety initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in an applicable field or equivalent
  • Typically has 12+ years of direct work experience
  • 3-6 years of Management experience
  • Ability to apply broad management, functional expertise/knowledge to subordinates managers and staff members
  • Developed key relationships with important customers and suppliers
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time both domestically and internationally
  • Travel is primarily within the APJ/GC region but may require travel to other locations as necessary for the role
  • Experience in physical security systems and programs that align with strategic direction, processes or policies managed by Global Security
  • Experience in threat and risk assessment, investigations, and establishment of security processes
  • Experience supporting Physical Security Systems within the assigned region
  • Experience in prevention, assessment, and security management principles to identify and mitigate threats
  • Experience developing and executing security plans for emergency response and key projects
  • Experience assisting in the formulation and deploying policies, procedures, operational standards, and related activities
  • Experience serving on campus wide planning teams representing the Global Security Program
  • Experience identifying system integrators and coordinating installation and maintenance services
  • Experience maintaining close working relationships with key site & business leaders and identifying operational budgets and capital projects
