Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of AI/ML models for: Price and load forecasting, unit commitment, and dispatch optimisation
- Fuel procurement and hedging optimisation
- Portfolio optimisation and PnL modelling
- Market anomaly, volatility, and pattern detection
- Clean, process, and analyse large financial and operational datasets
- Build data pipelines for market, fundamental, and alternative data
- Develop dashboards and analytics tools for traders and portfolio managers
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and statistical research
- Assist in backtesting trading strategies and performance attribution
- Document models, methodologies, and analytical findings
Requirements
- Undergraduate student in: Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Mathematics / Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering (Computing, Electrical, Systems, or related)
- Experience with: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn
- Experience with: SQL and data engineering concepts
- Experience with: Databricks
- Experience with: Time-series modelling
- Familiarity with: Optimisation (linear programming, mixed-integer programming)
- Familiarity with: Data visualisation (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Familiarity with: Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
- Domain Knowledge (Advantage but not necessary): Power and gas markets, trading, or portfolio management concepts
- Quantitative finance or algorithmic trading
- Energy, commodities, or capital markets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Curious about Power and Gas markets and AI applications
- Comfortable working with large, messy datasets
- Able to translate data insights into business impact
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
