Key Responsibilities
- Engages new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.
- Supports the maintenance of agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.
- Develops strategies to procure components at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
- Assists in creation of commodity road maps and implements commodity strategies.
- Supports new product development program and PLC process to ensure alignment with Applied's commodity strategies.
- Drives material cost reduction projects. Activities include but not limited to supplier negotiations, collaboration with engineering on design optimization and should costing.
- Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations; under direct supervision may negotiate contracts as necessary.
- Utilizes the preferred supplier selection and assessment process when selecting suppliers; Completes supplier risk assessment on critical and unique parts; Monitors supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost).
- Drives resolution to systematic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time.
- Drives initiatives on process improvement, optimization and digitalization of work processes within GSC community.
- Under direct supervision, forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers. Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
- Review and resolve material shortages to ensure continuity of production activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Management, Data Analytics or related field.
- Master's degree in Supply Chain and MBA is preferred.
- Proficiency in developing effective executive reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office tools.
- Excellent listening, writing, quantitative, qualitative and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact cross-organizationally.
