Key Responsibilities
- Lead process engineering activities for NCE projects in the pilot plant, collaborating with Chemists, Operations, and Engineering teams to review scale-up requests and identify optimum plant configurations for efficient process transitioning
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to restore and improve production reliability
- Support process development and optimization to scale-up or tech transfer processes
- Define and monitor key performance indicators and drive improvement actions with stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance and training to operators and colleagues to embed best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biochemical or related engineering field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing or process engineering in pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry
- Practical experience with process troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Experience supporting equipment and computer system commissioning, qualification or validation
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), health and safety requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to clear, respectful collaboration
- 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or biomanufacturing environments
- Experience with continuous manufacturing, process analytical technology or process modeling
- Knowledge of cleanroom standards and operations relevant to pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Experience with Biopharma synthesis workflows and scale-up, including familiarity with solid phase synthesis, purification techniques (e.g. IEX chromatography, TFF/UF/DF), freeze drying
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance or manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP, MES)
