Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage research projects, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with medicinal chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, structural biologists and computational scientists, to drive ongoing research and development projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop chemical biology approaches aimed at confirming target engagement of small molecules with protein of interest both in vitro and in cellular systems.
- Stay up to date with advancements in chemical biology and drug discovery.
- Oversee the upkeep of lab equipment and ensure adherence to good housekeeping practices in the lab.
- Maintain detailed, accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- A PhD in Chemical Biology is preferred. Applicants with a PhD in Biology, Chemistry, or related disciplines with relevant skill sets may also apply.
- Candidates with background in immunology would be advantageous.
- Strong expertise in wet lab research eg. mammalian cell culture, cellular assays (Western Blotting, co-immunoprecipitation, TURBO-ID), cell-based fluorescence imaging, molecular biology (CRISPR knockout screen) and bioanalytical techniques (ligand binding assays).
- Expertise in the design, synthesis, purification and characterisation of chemical compounds or chemical probes would be advantageous.
- Experience with Activity-Based Protein Profiling (ABPP), Affinity-Based Protein Profiling (AfBP), and chemoproteomics is a plus.
- Strong passion for interdisciplinary research and exploring novel therapeutic approaches.
- Self-motivated, fast learner with strong organization skills.
- Able to excel in a fast-paced environment, with attention to details and a problem-solving mindset.
