Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of project leadership from the beginning of project to the Closeout
- Safely and effectively deliver the project in accordance with project and business objectives including safety, capital cost, schedule, risk management, and plant operability
- Actively promote a safety culture in all project activities through all project phases
- Manage the interface between the Project Owner and the project team, including escalating critical issues as appropriate
- Develop and lead an effective project organisation that integrates all technical and non-technical functions required for successful production operations
- Translate defined business objectives and project priorities into a clear project vision, including clear and coherent project objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Energise and motivate the team through leadership engagement and creation of an inclusive work environment
- Implement robust ways of working for target setting, change management and reporting processes to provide clarity of project status
- Drive active collaboration and co-creation of commissioning & startup and Operational Readiness with key stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree in Technical or Engineering discipline
- More than 10 years of experience in Process industry having technical insight preferably in oil refining or chemical industry
- Technical knowledge and experience of project management in a Project Director or Senior Project Manager role, particularly for large, complex projects
- Experience leading local and global matrix organizations and utilizing cross-functional networks to drive high-performance teams
- Expertise in cultivating high-performing teams through coaching, effective delegation, and defining standards for excellence
- Proficiency in proactive risk assurance and quality management, employing what-if thinking and cold-eye reviews
- Demonstrated ability to navigate extreme project complexity and adapt to changing constraints in large-scale investments
- Advanced knowledge of Project Controls including cost, schedule, reporting and change management processes
- Experience with Handover and PSSRs (Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews)
- Ability to handle challenging situations and negotiations while providing timely feedback
- Accountable and responsible owner’s attitude and safety-oriented mindset
