Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-the-ground support for A*STAR SRL and SRIS laboratory operations, including coordination of laboratory access, supplies, consumables, and essential operational materials.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, organised, and operationally ready laboratory environment, including serving as a dept safety representative to support lab operational safety.
- Coordinate with vendors, facilities, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and availability of laboratory resources.
- Support laboratory set-ups, relocations, and operational activities.
- Assist with asset-related activities, where required.
- Assist with general administrative and coordination tasks across Planning & Operations as required e.g., Invoice management, Goods Receipt, tracking of temp access passes, business continuity, events logistics support, as well as other tasks, as delegated.
- Act as a Procurement Advocate, supporting laboratory users with basic procurement guidance and advising on best practices to facilitate compliant and efficient purchasing processes.
- Support licence subscriptions and management, including renewals and issuance.
- Manage and track laboratory notebooks, including issuance and record-keeping.
- Support compliance with institutional policies and operational procedures related to laboratory and general operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for assigned operational activities.
- Support the documentation of SOPs and work instructions for routine operational processes.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's in Science, Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations, research support, facilities management, or general operations within a research or technical environment.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and dependable, with a practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Good coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with researchers, operations staff, and external vendors.
- Comfortable managing routine tasks alongside ad hoc operational requests in a dynamic environment.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support operational priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including handling and lifting of laboratory equipment and assets, in compliance with institutional safety and workplace health requirements.
