Key Responsibilities

  • Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities
  • Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines)
  • Work at heights to perform engineering activities
  • Effectively lead his team and work with Ops and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects
  • Develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to rectify defects
  • Lead his team in analyzing and trending condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns
  • Develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to overcome reliability concerns
  • Vet and review technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Review and update System Hazard log and Risk register
  • Identify and implement cost effective technologies to enhance SMRT Trains, Plant Equipment as well as Engineering Trains and its associated equipment performance
  • Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability
  • Provide other engineering support to the projects as required

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in managerial positions in a maintenance organisation
  • Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers
  • Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required
  • Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Able to work independently and as a team effectively adjusting oneself flexibly to different work situations
  • Effective organizational and planning skills
  • Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
