Key Responsibilities
- Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities
- Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines)
- Work at heights to perform engineering activities
- Effectively lead his team and work with Ops and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects
- Develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to rectify defects
- Lead his team in analyzing and trending condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns
- Develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to overcome reliability concerns
- Vet and review technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Review and update System Hazard log and Risk register
- Identify and implement cost effective technologies to enhance SMRT Trains, Plant Equipment as well as Engineering Trains and its associated equipment performance
- Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability
- Provide other engineering support to the projects as required
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
- At least 5 years’ working experience in managerial positions in a maintenance organisation
- Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers
- Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required
- Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Able to work independently and as a team effectively adjusting oneself flexibly to different work situations
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
