Key Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate a national-level energy system model to identify decarbonisation pathways for Singapore.
- Gather user requirements and integrate multiple data streams, including techno-economic parameters and policy constraints, into the modelling framework.
- Perform techno-economic and environmental analysis of complex energy systems.
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the robustness, cost, and emissions impact of different decarbonization pathways.
- Visualize and communicate complex modelling results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Engage with government agencies and industry partners to validate assumptions, align model objectives with strategic needs, and translate outputs into policy recommendations.
Requirements
- Degree in systems engineering, energy economics and policy, operations research, industrial ecology, or a related field (PhD preferred).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, GAMS, or R, along with data analysis/visualisation tools.
- Experience with the techno-economic assessment of energy systems, lifecycle analysis, or other sustainability topics.
- Experience with sensitivity analysis, robust decision making, or uncertainty quantification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical findings to interdisciplinary teams.
- Diligent work ethic and a positive attitude towards learning new methodologies.
