Key Responsibilities

Install, upgrade database systems, apply patches and implement changes when required
Diagnose and resolve database errors ensuring high availability of database systems
Manage databases access, backups and ensure compliance with database and security standards
Perform changes to critical databases related to manufacturing and engineering
Support incident, request, change, and problem management tasks associated with database operations
Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work
Provide oncall support, including outside of office hours
Ensure critical metrics, such as breach case target, MTTR and first level resolution target are met
Perform business continuity planning and capacity forecast for database systems
Collaborate with site customers on new database requirements, problem resolution and data flow requests
Performance tuning of databases to ensure high performance and availability
Monitor database performance proactively and perform analysis of cases to prevent recurring issues

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields, or equivalent experience
Candidates with minimum 4 years of relevant working experience may be considered for a senior position
Good understanding and hands-on experience in the following areas will be advantageous: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Databases, Linux and Windows operation systems
Programming and scripting languages such as Java, PowerShell and Python
Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
