Key Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade database systems, apply patches and implement changes when required
- Diagnose and resolve database errors ensuring high availability of database systems
- Manage databases access, backups and ensure compliance with database and security standards
- Perform changes to critical databases related to manufacturing and engineering
- Support incident, request, change, and problem management tasks associated with database operations
- Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work
- Provide oncall support, including outside of office hours
- Ensure critical metrics, such as breach case target, MTTR and first level resolution target are met
- Perform business continuity planning and capacity forecast for database systems
- Collaborate with site customers on new database requirements, problem resolution and data flow requests
- Performance tuning of databases to ensure high performance and availability
- Monitor database performance proactively and perform analysis of cases to prevent recurring issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields, or equivalent experience
- Candidates with minimum 4 years of relevant working experience may be considered for a senior position
- Good understanding and hands-on experience in the following areas will be advantageous: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Databases, Linux and Windows operation systems
- Programming and scripting languages such as Java, PowerShell and Python
- Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
- Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
