Key Responsibilities
- Serve as secretariat to support A*STAR Institutional Review Board (IRB) and National Advisory Committees such as the Genetic Modification Advisory Committee (GMAC) and the National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR).
- Provide end-to-end secretariat support to IRB, GMAC, and NACLAR, including coordination of meetings, preparation of papers and minutes, and processing of appointments and honoraria.
- Facilitate acknowledgement, tracking, review and endorsing approvals of GMO-related research and commercial release applications and maintaining official records.
- Conduct literature reviews and horizon scanning on emerging GM technologies and international regulatory developments.
- Support A*STAR IRB and GMAC's external and internal outreach efforts, including talks, seminars, competitions, and engagement at regional and international forums.
- Manage GMAC's digital platforms, public enquiries, and budget tracking for the national advisory committees.
- Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities (e.g. SFA, MOH, NParks, etc.) on GM-related issues. Conduct preliminary assessments on A*STAR IRB applications, making informed and justifiable recommendations to A*STAR IRB Chair
- Contribute to the overall mission of Research Office in upholding the highest level of research compliance and governance
Requirements
- Minimally a university degree with a good knowledge of STEM discipline
- Minimally 3 years of experience in research or research administration
- Relevant background in reviewing and / or preparing IRB / IACUC / GMAC applications and project management is preferred
- Familiarity with HBRA is preferred
- Strong communications skills with the ability to work independently and in a team structure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
