Key Responsibilities
- Design and detail injection and LSR moulds, EOAT, and automation components using 3D CAD
- Create and maintain accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Ensure all designs comply with company standards, safety requirements, and ISO guidelines
- Engage early with Product Development to review parts and provide DFM feedback on geometry, materials, and mouldability
- Conduct DFM reviews with cross-functional teams, incorporating feedback from Production, Automation, and Maintenance
- Perform mould flow analyses to optimise part quality, cycle time, and tool reliability
- Collaborate with manufacturing, process, and automation engineers to enhance tool performance and product quality
- Coordinate with toolmakers, machinists, and suppliers to ensure practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs
- Support the manufacture, assembly, testing, and integration of moulds, EOAT, and automation devices
- Participate in troubleshooting and modifying existing tooling to resolve performance issues
- Manage the end-to-end design process from concept through manufacture and T0 validation
- Provide onsite support for commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting of moulding and automation systems
Requirements
- Qualifications in Design, Toolmaking, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline
- Experience with robot programming and logic
- Qualification in Mechanical and/or Mechatronics Engineering
- Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD tools
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in an engineering environment, ideally involving tooling, automation, or manufacturing operations
