Key Responsibilities
- Proactive Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify project cost opportunities that enhance competitiveness and ensure successful project execution.
- Manage 3rd Party PQS: Manage the delivery of project achievement estimates through multiple phases. Coordinate with third-party PQS or equivalent experience providers to ensure timely delivery and alignment with Micron standards.
- Define estimating tasks, due dates, templates, and work breakdown structure alignment, and ensure reconciliation between EPC, AE, and PQS estimates while clearly identifying gaps, risks, and next steps.
- Support value engineering efforts and establish and track Target Value Design and affordability targets in collaboration with project teams.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with stakeholders to apply the best should cost models for various project delivery methods and strategies (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build).
- Empower Procurement: Equip procurement partners with essential tools and platforms for data-driven decision-making; provide consultation on negotiation strategies and fact packs.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the company (e.g., Procurement, Facilities Construction, Finance, Operations) to ensure overall project success.
- Provide Insights: Offer insights on procurement cost-related aspects, including systems, processes, competitiveness benchmarking, and opportunities.
- Mentorship and Development: Supervise, Mentor, coach, and develop team members across multiple regions, promoting best practice-based solutions.
- Data Collaboration: Work with business analytics and smart manufacturing teams to develop a database for maintaining, tracking, and reporting key cost data in relation to global economic trends.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant project and management experience in cost management, quantity surveying, construction procurement, or analytics within large capital project environments, particularly in Cleanroom/Hospital/Pharmaceutical or high-tech manufacturing related projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, data analysis, and experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), with the ability to analyze and summarize complex cost data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, incorporating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and benchmarking concepts.
- Demonstrated construction & cost estimating / Cost management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with should cost methodologies (e.g. clean sheet, liner price performance, benchmarking).
- Excellent communication, consulting, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Is highly skilled in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrates strong communication, influencing stakeholders and able to communicate complex cost insights effectively to senior leaders.
