Overview

UMC is one of the world's major foundries and provides wafer fabrication across a broad range of mature and specialty technologies. Its Singapore fab, Fab 12i, is the company's flagship 300mm site outside Taiwan and supports a wide ecosystem of local and international chip designers.

The local operation is especially relevant for candidates who want hands-on experience in foundry process engineering, equipment reliability, yield, and manufacturing. It offers direct exposure to high-volume fab work rather than design-center or commercial-only roles.
